Awarded to Archibald…

6/10/22

Ella and Maisie were fabulous ambassadors for Archibald today as they collected two awards from Children’s Cancer North on behalf of our school.

This year, the local charity raised a tremendous £241,000 from the Cancer Run event held in May 2022.

Ella and Maisie were thrilled to find out that Archibald had raised approximately £7800 of this alone.

They were both very excited to receive the first certificate and trophy on behalf of the school which were given in recognition of our participation and the amount raised.

Archibald had an amazing turnout for this year’s Cancer Run with pupils, teachers, staff and friends joining together to raise money for this fantastic charity.

The level of support and the amount of money we raised was incredible. A huge thank you must go to Miss White for organising our participation.

There was more to come as the girls were then asked back up to receive trophy number two – the Sandy Weir Memorial Award.

This is awarded to the school who the charity feel have gone above and beyond in their participation and fundraising.

The Children’s Cancer North team wanted to recognise Archibald for how our school community has come together to raise the profile of childhood cancers and generate funds whilst supporting Daniel (2019) and Lily (2022) as they battled cancer.

Lily’s friends definitely caught the attention of the organisers this year!

Schoolfriends of Lily Jha ran the Children’s Cancer Run for her while she received treatment for a rare form of brain cancer in America https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/schoolfriends-gosforth-nine-year-old-23944214.amp

Well done and thank you to everyone involved.
