PTFA

What is the Archibald First School PTFA?

PTFA stands for Parents, Teachers and Friends Association. We are a registered charity (number 1099483). Any parent or carer is automatically a member and welcome to help in any way they can.

What does the PTFA do?

We raise funds to enhance the experience of school life here at Archibald.

We organise events throughout the year such as discos and non-uniform days for the children, second hand uniform sales, Summer and Christmas Fayres and bake sales. The aim is to have fun and socialise while raising money for the school.

How can I be involved?

The PTFA only exists with the support of parents, carers and friends and you can help in several ways. Anyone is welcome to attend meetings and have a say in what we do. We need help with ideas for events and activities, and then help with running them; with preparations, setting up, folding raffle tickets, counting sweets in a jar, or working on stalls… there really is a way to get involved for everyone, no matter how much or little time you can spare!

It’s a great way to meet other parents and feel more involved with your child’s school, and you might be surprised how much you enjoy helping out!

Each class has a PTFA Representative, who is responsible for passing on messages to other parents and carers via WhatsApp and Facebook groups about events, fundraising activities and opportunities to help. The rep is also responsible for co-ordinating the class bake sale once a year.

We have a PTFA Volunteers WhatsApp group, or if you would prefer, we can send opportunities to help via e-mail.

If you would like to find out more about helping out, please email our PTFA Chair Anna at archibaldchair@yahoo.co.uk

Keeping You Informed

Our letters and newsletters will always be added to the main school website whilst forthcoming dates can be found within the PTFA section as well as on the main school diary.

Note from the PTFA, February 2024: After carefully considering feedback from the school community, we are no longer organising Mother’s Day and Father’s Day cards and gifts.
