Counselling
At Archibald we collaborate with counsellors from a range of agencies such as North East Counselling Services, Chameleon Counselling, Northern Guilds, Kalmer Counselling, The Road Centre, St Oswald’s and Barnardos.
The counsellors work with children who may be suffering from things such as
- a bereavement
- low confidence
- anxiety
- poor self-esteem
- depression
- self harm.
Our counsellors provide a safe space for children to talk about their feelings and experiences, helping to build emotional resilience and improve mental health.
With the children, they work creatively, using pens, paint, clay, toys etc to help them to work through their issues therapeutically in play.
Working collaboratively between home and school, this support can make a huge difference to the lives of the pupils who attend counselling.
We also work with the Local Authority SEMH Team and RISE to support social, emotional mental health needs in our young people.
Please contact school to find out more.
