Art Week Autumn 2

We had a fantastic start to this half term with Art and DT week. The children across school enjoyed learning about new artists and appraising their work. Early Years created lovely Kandinsky style art to brighten up their outdoor area and Year 1 learned how to colour mix primary colours to create art work inspired by Jasper Johns. In Year 2 the illustrator Wayne Anderson was the inspiration behind their beautiful Tin Forest sketches and Year 3 built on their colour mixing and learned to create both tertiary colours and tones and applied this to their Piccasso inspired final pieces. Year 4 learned about local artist Norman Cornish and British artist Lowry whilst they focussed on using a foreground, middleground and background in their work.

The children showed incredible creativity and staff were blown away by what they produced.
