Year 3 Summer Blog

What a Wonderful Year It's Been in Year 3!

Wow, what an amazing year our Year 3 children have had. It has been a privilege to watch them grow in confidence, independence and maturity, and we couldn't be prouder of everything they have achieved.

From the very beginning of the year, the children have approached every new challenge with resilience, curiosity and determination.

There have been so many memorable moments. Our pre-history topics have been a real success as the children stepped back in time through exciting workshops and hands-on activities. They became expert historians, learning fascinating facts about life in Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age Britain, and other ancient civilisations across the world too! Their enthusiasm was infectious!

In the Autumn term, we spent time working alongside the volunteers at Gosforth Central Park to help keep Gosforth green! Having the opportunity to make a difference while learning about caring for the environment was lovely to see. They represented our school brilliantly, showing respect, responsibility and teamwork.

This year has also been full of sporting fun. The children thoroughly enjoyed developing their tennis skills with Kim from the Northumberland Tennis Academy showing incredible progress in only a few short weeks. On Sports Day, they showed amazing teamwork, encouraging each other and celebrating each other's achievements. Not to mention swimming at Gosforth Pool. This is always one element of Year 3 that our children get excited for, and seeing 60 happy faces in the water, making progress and demonstrating their impressive ability was wonderful! So wonderful that we paired up with Year 4 to bring home the gold at the swimming gala!

One of the highlights of the year has been seeing the progress the children have made in their writing. Their confidence has grown enormously, and it has been wonderful to watch them develop into imaginative, thoughtful and increasingly independent writers. Every child has something to be proud of, and their hard work has certainly paid off. Just look at the progress these children have made!

To our brilliant Year 3 children, thank you for all of your hard work, enthusiasm, kindness and determination this year. We are truly proud of you all and we hope you all have a wonderful, restful and fun-filled summer holiday.
