As Time Began in Year 3!

9/12/21

This half term our topic has been As Time Began! Pupils in Year 3 have worked incredibly hard and been full of enthusiasm and curiosity. Children have became Stone Age experts with great understanding of everyday life in the Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic periods. If that wasn’t enough, Year 3 then found out about how life changed during The Bronze Age and Iron Age too. Other tasks in history involved creating timelines and making links to how people in the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age have affected our lives to this very day. It’s safe to say that we have quite the number of expert historians in Year 3!

In literacy, Year 3 pupils enjoyed reading The Stone Age Boy and then created their very own versions. The creativity and imagination that the children displayed was truly remarkable! However, we have also worked on our non-fiction skills by creating a non-chronological report all about Stone Age life.

You will be delighted to know that we also have lots of Super Scientists in Year 3 too! Children have investigated rocks to find out all about their properties and then classified them accordingly. If you want to know how sedimentary, igneous or metamorphic rocks are formed then Year 3 will definitely be able to help out!

It really has been the most wonderful half term in Year 3. We couldn’t be more proud of the children In Year 3 and we think they are simply fantastic!
