On Thursday 13th September 2012, Year 1 became Junior Safety Officers for Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service. They learnt how to keep safe and some children tried on the safety gear firemen wear. We got a certicate to say we had passed and stickers and booklets to take home. There might also be a special visitor come to see us soon. Keep checking the website to find out more.
UPDATE:
The fire engine came to visit on Friday 21St September. We were very excited. They showed us all the equipment they need to help us and even let us use the hose. It was a great way to finish off our Fire Safety Training. Many thanks to Gosforth Fire Station for coming.
