Spring updates from the PTFA

8/3/24

Spring is in the air and we have some updates from the PTFA to share!

Firstly, thanks so much to everyone who supported our Christmas fundraising, which raised a total of £1,607!

After carefully considering feedback from the school community, we are no longer organising Mother’s Day and Father’s Day cards and gifts.

We are holding a friendly, informal open meeting to share fundraising ideas and to plan fundraising activities collaboratively. If you’d like to join the meeting we’ll be in the snug area of the Brandling Arms on Gosforth High Street on Monday 18th March at 7.30pm.

We’ve received some feedback that some children from within the school have asked why the PTFA is only mums and not dads! We’re really grateful to have a number of volunteers who help our activities, including dads who helped at our summer fair, and other parents, carers and grandparents. If you’d like to join our volunteer WhatsApp group please contact your class rep to get the invite link – there’s no commitment when joining the group, opportunities will be shared and you can respond if and when you can help.

After the success of the first Auction of Promises last year we’ll be running this again, and we’ll be holding an Easter Trail for over the Easter holidays. More details on these to follow soon!

Last but by no means least, we have some exciting events coming up:

-Class 5 Bake Sale, Friday 8th March at 3.15pm.

-Spring Disco, Wednesday 20th March. Year 1 and 2 at 3.15-4.30pm / Year 3 and 4 at 5-6.30pm.

-Easter Egg Hunt, held in school during school hours, on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th March.

-Summer Fair, Saturday 29th June. Timings and more event details to be shared in the coming weeks.
